Hala Khouri
Hala Khouri is a passionate advocate for healing and justice, with over 25 years of experience teaching yoga and movement. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and dual M.A. degrees in Counseling Psychology and Community Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Trained in Somatic Experiencing, Hala specializes in trauma-informed care, helping individuals navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
As a co-founder of Off the Mat, Into the World, Hala bridges the gap between yoga and activism within a social justice framework. She also co-founded Collective Resilience, where she trains clinicians, educators, and non-profit staff to center their work on healing and justice. An adjunct professor at Pitzer College, Hala teaches Critical Community Engagement, fostering transformative learning environments.
Her book, Peace from Anxiety: Get Grounded, Build Resilience and Stay Connected Amidst the Chaos, was published in April 2021. Through her online community program, Radical Wellbeing, she continues to guide others in collective healing. Hala's work is driven by a deep belief in our capacity to transform trauma, build loving communities, and dream of a brighter, interconnected future. She is also part of the Aura Institute Team.
